Aakash Chopra didn’t hold back in his analysis of SRH’s performance. He said the recent defeat against MI was a turning point, possibly the one match that derailed their campaign. “Just one loss can take you far away from qualification, and I think Hyderabad are unlikely to qualify,” he remarked. With tough matches ahead against MI and CSK, Chopra believes this season is gone for SRH. The team’s inconsistency and poor form, especially in crucial games, have made their chances of making the playoffs very slim.
The former opener also criticized SRH’s bowling attack and their inconsistent batting performances. He pointed out that Nitish Kumar Reddy and Ishan Kishan haven’t delivered as expected. After scoring a brilliant century in the opening match, Kishan has only managed 32 runs in his next six innings. Meanwhile, Nitish is averaging just 21.83 with the bat. With such poor form from key players and no signs of improvement, the former cricketer suggested that this season is gone for SRH, as their campaign continues to slide downhill.
