Our Story
In the vibrant city of Tezpur in Northeast India, we were five kindred spirits—some of us brothers, others college friends—united by one unbreakable bond: our love for cricket. Growing up, we all had the same dream etched into our hearts—donning the iconic Indian jersey and standing tall on the pitch. We spent countless mornings perfecting our cover drives and afternoons visualizing the roar of the crowd each time we’d send a ball soaring to the boundary.
But life, as it often does, threw us a curveball. Despite our best efforts and countless hours spent on the field, the opportunity to play at the highest level began to slip away. The world of professional cricket grew more distant each day. Yet, even as our on-field ambitions dimmed, our collective passion remained as fierce as ever.
That passion, however, needed a new outlet—something that could keep the spirit of cricket alive, even if we couldn’t represent our nation on the pitch. We recalled the moment that first ignited our dreams: Irfan Pathan’s breathtaking in-swinging yorker to Adam Gilchrist. That single, electrifying delivery reminded us how a shared love for the game can unite people in admiration and wonder. It was that memory that drove us to ask ourselves a bold question:
If we can’t be on the field, how can we still bring cricket’s magic to the world?
The answer was Sportsamrath.
In March 2023, fueled by our collective determination, we registered our domain. Soon after, we published our very first article—a modest beginning that marked the birth of a platform now cherished by thousands of sports lovers every month. What started as five dreamers from Tezpur has blossomed into a thriving community that spans beyond cricket, extending its coverage to football, kabaddi, and a host of other sports.
While Tezpur might be off the usual cricket map, we’ve embraced our roots and transformed our city into a hub for sports discussion, debate, and celebration. Sportsamrath aims to give a voice to every budding sports fan, no matter where they come from.
